Psychology of skin - Why our 3 step Ink Care works

The psychology of skin in distress. "I wanted to create tattoo care that not only heals the tattoo without getting infected, but also heals the skin in a way that retains ink vibrancy, the integrity of fine tattoo lines and detailed art work for YEARS to come."
open jar of Sabine G Holistics Curator balm with marshmallow rot calendula and gold spoon.

I took an in depth view to formulating this effective collection - trying to understand what is happening to the mind and body when skin is tattooed. Learning what stressors are triggered and then creating topical herbal remedies which convince our bodies to accept the ink for life.

Skin, as the largest living and air breathing organ of our body, has an integral function to protect the vulnerable organs underneath it's layers. Once pierced with a tattoo gun or needle, the nerve send messages to the brain to set all the white blood cells on high alert and immediately get to work to clean

and close the wound and push out any foreign object that may have entered. (creating the wet weeping you see). Once the body has been told the ink is not wanted, it will remember forever, long after you believe your tattoo is healed. Bodies can dispose ink and even piercing can be pushed out over a period of time. Incorrect healing can look like grey faded tattoos with blurry smudged lines, colour changes, tightness and scar tissue and completely faded and disappearing tattoos.

Pure wash, Hydra mist and Curator tattoo balm with organic botanicals.

So we created a phenomenal 3 step Inked For Life collection which:

  • communicates to the skin receptors to calm down and embrace the ink

  • is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial

  • soothes and hydrates

  • protects the tattoo from outside dirt yet allows skin to breathe

  • completely synthetic free and pH balanced

  • helps heal the skin in a correct pace to avoid raised lumps and white scarring

  • strengthens skin against UV and environmental stressors

Welcome to your 3 Step Ink Care

Step 1 Wash Pure Wash Foaming Cleanser is soft and gentle, anti-microbial and being pH balanced (of course), pure wash won't sting or burn. On the contrary, it foams to a soothing soft thick foam. The glycerine and rose water calms the irritated inflamed skin. Pure wash can be used on your fresh tattoos, face and intimate areas for clean non irritating hygiene.

Step 2 Hydrate

Awaken Hydra Mist spray alleviates itching and dryness with a no touch hydrating mist. Infused with Colloidal Silver and Rose water to calm redness and kill any bacteria or infections before they arise. waken can be spritzed over healing and scabbing tattoos as many times as you need. Colloidal Silver is known as a powerful wound healer.

Step 3 Moisturise

Our Curator Balm takes care of all old and new tattoos. This soft calming balm covers all the criteria needed in an ink vibrancy tattoo balm! A little goes a long way.

  • communicates to the skin receptors to calm down and embrace the ink

  • is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial

  • soothes and hydrates

  • protects the tattoo from outside dirt yet allows skin to breathe

  • helps heal the skin in a correct pace to avoid raised lumps and white scarring

  • strengthens skin against UV and environmental stressors

Made from our own sustainable bees wax and whole-plant infused organic seed oils. Each holding phytosterols and antioxidants to protect the integrity of your work of art. I recommend using Curator on all tattoos before exposing them to the sun. Curator contains effective UV resisting plants which will add to your daily sun protection.
